It is a Psuedodog from the STALKER series, a mutated wolf that hunts in packs or even alone if hungry, they aren't hard to kill but they move incredibly fast and their bite can be fatal in one blow.

Looks alot like the Vicious dogs off fallout...Only more ugly...And less unnatural looking...And more mutated because Dogs on Fallout 3 are apprantly immune to radiation.

Funny you mentioned that because the Wild dogs in STALKER live in the irradiated parts of the Red Forest and the Vicious dogs live in the irradiated parts of the wasteland.
