STALKERClock's News

It's been a long time since I made one of these.

CashClock told me he was a huge Mass Effect fan and I had thought what his Mass Effect character probably looks like so I sketched out what he would look like if he was in Mass Effect (like me in Cryostasis). I have played Mass Effect too and I honestly think it's a compelling story with inspiring visuals, the weapons could have been better but that isn't a huge flaw.

I hope you like it, Cash.

PS - Putin is a moron

GSC Game World is gone!

Updated 12/10/11

I just got news that GSC Game world, the creators of my all time favorite FPS franchise, STALKER has shut down. This means STALKER 2 will never see the light of day and the STALKER series has officially come to an end.

Without STALKER, my life feels meaningless and I don't want to become a Call of Duty fanboy, theres too many of them. (also it's overrated and repetitive)

GSC Game World had been developing games since Codename: Outbreak, they then became famous for the Cossack series, to me they became one of the greatest game studios ever when they made STALKER. There might not be another STALKER but there will always be the uncomparable STALKER series.

Goodbye GSC Game World, I wish you all the best luck I can give.

It's been a while since I made a post but anyway, I tried New Super Mario Bros on my friends wii and after all these years Mario still kicks ass! It's one of those games where you need another player to help you out because I found it really difficult on my own. I was left speechless after playing it for hours and I recommend it to anyone who likes the following:

1. Adventure
2. Mario
3. Child friendly violence
4. Saving Peach's stupid ass (again).
5. Crazy power-ups

and finally teamwork.

Well Idon't what else I can sayso I'll just leave it here.

PS - Where do you guys live in the world?

Sergo - Kursk, Russia
Jack - Liverpool, England
Nick - Ontario, Canada
Healy - Austin, Texas

For those of you who haven't noticed, my medals are gone. They just vanished without a trace or reason and I'm really pissed off about it right now. If they got stolen I'm gonna find out who took them, break into their house and stick their balls in a mousetrap! That's how angry I am. I f you know anything about this please let me know.

Hey guys

I haven't been very active recently for two reasons.

1. I have a cold that's driving me nuts.

2. I haven't been able to do much so I'm sort of stuck in limbo right now.

If any of you guys have some spare time, leave a comment and we can catch up on things.

A while ago I trieded Fable 2 (CapnChaos's most favorite game of all time) and I felt like posting my opinions on it.

First of all, the story is well written and the characters are really likable. Some of them are really annoying and won't piss off, unfortunately you can't kill them or push them off a cliff by "accident". Maybe the developers thought people would ignore these side quests and added in NPCs who will keep bothering until you accept their requests just to leave you alone.

Making money is very easy for me, all I had to do was chop wood or hit iron etc. which isn't so bad but it does get boring after a while. Unlike STALKER, running around doing other people's business gets annoying. They've got legs so why don't the assholes do their own work!?

Back to my review, I have to say I love the atmosphere, to me atmosphere is one of the most important features in a game. I felt like I was in Ablion (joke: what kind of stupid name is that?) with the wind blowing through the trees and, the birds cawing (and shitting) overhead and the sound of crowded markets in towns.

Next up is the combat. There is plenty of enemies to fight from creepy folkloric creatures to bandits who can't even shoot the sky (how can you miss someone who isn't moving?). The fighting is a lot different from any other games I've played, instead there's melee button and a shooting button to keep them seperate and make sure you "accidently" kill any bards you meet. This isn't a bad thing but it does take time to get used to, I'm more used to pulling a trigger than swinging a blade. The weapons vary a lot, personally I think the melee weapons are mediocre but the guns kick ass.

So Fable 2 is a really good adventure game with lots of free choices, it does have it's flaws but there not ones that follow you everywhere like glitches and invisible walls. I give it 8/10 for being so damn addicting.

Thanks for reading and as a bonus I'm going to tell you my reaction to the begnning of the game when you start in Bowerstone.

Me yelling at the bird: YOU LITTLE BASTARD! WHEN I FIND YOU I'M GOING TO STICK A RUSTY FORK UP YOUR ASS AND TWIST YOUR ORGANS AROUND IT LIKE SPAGHETTI!!!

Yesterday, the best thing that ever happened to me for a long time took place and I really wanna tell you guys because it means a lot to me.

I GOT A NEW BOILER!!!

Now I can enjoy playing games in the dark, having a shower, hanging my stuff on a radiator and no longer have to go down to the basement and repair the boiler when it breaks down, my new one is up to date. I said goodbye to my old boiler in a way it deserves before it went to the scrapyard. I SPAT ON IT AND KICKED IT SO HARD THAT THIS TIME IT LEFT A DENT IN IT!

Now that that's out of the way I'd better think about my piece for the collab.

What a nightmare! First my crappy soviet-era boiler starts to die (at a good time) and now my CD drive in my PC is broken. I'm starting to mad not being able to play STALKER but thankfully I have Metro 2033 on Xbox so it's not all that bad. But I still miss my most favorite FPS game in the whole world.

Thought I'd make a post since it was months ago when I last made one.

I got tired of staring at the same post so I made a new one like Canistel.

Talk about anything, it's free for all.

10 things I hate in Fallout 3

11/14/09 by STALKERClock
Updated 11/14/09

I'm not saying Fallout 3 is a bad game, it's just that it has some flaws that make me want to throw it in the boiler. But since it broke down again I might as well tell some of the things that really piss me off in the game.

10. Boring background music - The music doesn't feel very tense or exciting compared to other games like STALKER or Half-Life. When you play games like that you feel apart of the game.

9. Stiff characters - The NPCs and the player character feel stiff and not very interactive. I know the open choice dialogue is cool but that doesn't make up for my character sliding all over the wasteland and evening moonwalking to places.

8. Lack of enemies - No matter where I go I always run into the same thing; wild dogs, mole rats, bloatflies etc. Sometimes I run into Talon Company or the Enclave but they don't put up much of a fight, but still once they're dead you can steal their shit and walk off like nothing happened.

7. Lack of atmosphere - In my opinion atmosphere is the most important part of gaming experience. When you play games like Silent Hill, STALKER or Call of Duty you feel like you're in the game with all the noises surrounding you and if a grenade exploded next to you, your ears ring and your vision becomes blurred. In Fallout 3 when you get hit by an explosive it doesn't feel the same since the Lone Wanderer is very stiff and lacks of emotion.

6. VATS - Before you go crazy I think VATS is a really cool feature but it isn't really reliable when you're cornered in a building and you can't hit a soup can from ten paces. For example when I used VATS on a bloatfly with an assault rifle, the emotionless asshole missed it completely, but when I did myself I managed to kill it. Either I don't have high enough small guns skill or if you want something done right you've got to do it yourself.

5. Impossible physics - The physics in the game aren't the worst but they could have been better. I came across a sniper on a bridge and I shot him in the head with a sniper rifle, doesn't a headshot usually kill people instantly? So anyway I took him out and when he fell fell off the bridge he started flying around place like he was on strings (which I spotted) and fell through the river. DON'T BODIES FLOAT ON WATER ANYMORE?

4. Easy enemies - I tried out operation Anchorage at a friends house and to be fair I enjoyed it but it was pretty short. So anyway I came across these highly trained Chinese elite soldiers called the Crimson Dragoon and I thought they would put up a real challenge. But instead they fall flat on their asses with a few pistol rounds. I thought they were supposed to be tough opponents but then again the Chinese couldn't fight for shit.

3. Fast travel - Fast travel can useful sometimes if you wanted to get to far away places in a hurry but it sucks the atmosphere out of the game. When you get there nothing seems to have changed or moved. In STALKER: Clear Sky you can choose to pay a guide to get to a place safely or if you have the vehicle mod you can just drive there, so I think they should've put vehicles in because walking to very far places is not fun.

2. Fast detiriorating weapons - The weapons break so fast and easily. I know they were trying to follow in STALKER's footsteps with the weapon condition but in that game the weapons last longer and in Clear Sky you can repair them. In Fallout 3 if you repair something it doesn't repair it fully unless you have 100 in repair skill. Maybe the weapons were made in Albania.

1. Invisible walls - This is the most annoying flaw in the entire game! If you are hiding behind a rock or one of the statues in Washington D.C. Your bullets always hit an invisible wall, even when there is plenty of room to shoot through or when you're at a distance you still miss them, I was about to snipe a raider, I had a clear shot but my bullet didn't hit him because of a small little metal pole sticking out and taking my shot with an invisible wall. But for some reason the NPCs can shoot through them so while I keep missing them they keep hitting me, AND THAT IS ENOUGH TO PISS OFF ANYONE!!!

So there you have the top 10 things I hate in Fallout 3. I hope I didn't make anyone angry I just wanted to tell you about these problems with the game, if they fix them then Fallout 3 would get a solid gold 10/10.

(suprise picture coming soon, I promise)
